Outdoor fireplaces come in three distinct categories:
- Indoor / Outdoor Gas Fireplaces
- Indoor fireplaces that can be used on a covered patio
- Fireplaces made to weather the elements with no requirement to be covered [products are offered in wood burning and gas burning]
Indoor / Outdoor
Indoor / outdoor see-through gas fireplaces are a unique category. These fireplaces have one side that is weather proof and engineered to keep the elements of moisture air air infiltration from marching into your home. We highly recommend they type that uses a chimney; the vent free versions of this genre do not hold up aesthetically.
Approved Indoor Fireplaces
Some gas fireplaces traditionally thought to be for the interior of your home have the approved listing to be installed outside - so long as they are installed in a covered patio / outdoor living space.
Outdoor Fireplaces
Fireplace dedicated for outdoor use, engineered to weather the elements, are typically modified masonry fireplaces [you can choose to burn wood, or upgrade the unit with a gas log] - or - vent free gas fireplaces made from stainless steel.
